Dr. Sonza L. Curtis, MPAS, PA-C, ND, NWC, IFMCP
received her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1996 with honors. Her diverse medical experience includes extensive training in otolaryngology surgery, plastic surgery, pain management, family practice, clinical medical research, community health, and integrative medicine.
In 2004, Dr. Curtis traveled to South Africa as a medical missionary. She later went on to complete her Doctorate of Naturopathy for Health Care Professionals with honors in 2010. Her decision to choose the field of Naturopathy allowed her to break away from conventional medicine, which she felt had been somewhat fragmented and “missing something”. She believes finding the underlying cause of an ailment should be the first step in treatment rather than immediately masking the problem with pharmaceuticals. She currently utilizes her expertise in holistic medicine for weight loss and proper nutrition by using HCG and other natural hormonal therapies.
Dr. Curtis’ philosophy is educating patients about disease prevention and modification within the integrative model of medicine. She believes there can be many elements or influences that can affect a person’s overall health. In order to understand what they are, she begins by evaluating a patient’s mind, body and spirit. She feels optimum health can truly be acquired through the integration of all systems after each are individually assessed and healed.
She serves on the advisory board at Safe house in downtown Atlanta and Advisory board for e-magazine Live Living. As an active member of her local community, she participates in community health out reaches, which include the Roswell Day of Hope, Back to School and as Annual Speaker for Christian singers’ workshop.
She earned certifications for both Physician Assistants NCCPA and Natural Wellness from the National Commission of Certifications. She is also member of the American Association of Naturopathic Practitioners and Georgia Association of Physician Assistants
Dr. Curtis enjoys working with patients of all ages and is committed to providing excellent healthcare. She is married with four children and has one grandson.
